"Art, undeniably, is conductive to happiness."
Artistic and physical activity have always been a part of Vera’s life. Growing up, she practiced figure skating and dance for several years. After receiving her diploma in classical dance, she joined various renowned companies in the Czech Republic, in France and now as a member of Les Grands Ballets. Her desire to always keep learning lead her to Mysore, India, where she received her certification as a yoga teacher at the Yoga Vidya Ashram. Dance and yoga are a true source of happiness for Vera and that's what drives her to share her experience with others!
Because it makes me forget everything else and just feel the present moment… and because it makes me happy!
To feel the energy.
Of the idea of being perfect. Instead, I work on becoming better.
Vera completed her dance training at Janacek's National Conservatory in Czech Republic in 2007. During her studies, she was already dancing roles in The Nutcracker and Swan Lake with the National Theatre Moravian-Silesian. After graduating, she joined the ballet company of National Theatre Brno, and later the Ballet de l'Opera National du Rhin, before finally joining Les Grands Ballets. Here she has grown as an artist, having danced many soloist roles in both the classical and contemporary repertoires.
After many years of practicing different yoga styles, such as Hatha yoga, Bikram yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Vera decided to become more involved. In the summer of 2013, she spent over a month in Mysore, India, studying more precisely asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (energy control techniques) as well as philosophy, anatomy and physiology in the Hatha yoga style. She has received her Yoga Alliance certification RYT200.
Going further still in her exploration of the body and movement, in 2016 Vera began studies at the National Center for Dance Therapy. She is especially interested in continuing to develop the targeted dance classes for people with Parkinsons.
