Geilgud), the Bule bird in Sleeping Beauty, the Pas de trois in Swan Lake (Nureev), the Pas de trois and Iñigo in Paquita, the Pas de deux in La Sylphide (Pierre Lacotte), the star and principal dancer in Rubies (Balanchine), the role of the daughter in Le Mandarin merveilleux, the solo in Le Concours (Maurice Béjart), Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (Jean-Christophe Maillot) and Fakir in La Bayadère (Rudolf Noureev). His repertoire also includes Bella Figura, Return to a Strange Land and Forgotten Land (Jiří Kylián), the Door Pas de deux in Apartment, Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty and Giselle (Mats Ek), the Stepmother in Cinderella (Stijn Celis), Tarentella, Stars and stripes,Who Cares? and the solo in the 1st movement in Episodes (George Balanchine), the main role in Kaleidoscope (Peter Quanz), Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and In the Middle… Somewhat Elevated (William Forsythe), Romeo and Juliet (Rudolf Noureev). He has also danced the mattress scene in Perpetuum, Arbos and Kaamos (Ohad Naharin), Hermann in The Queen of Spades (Kim Brandstrup), Pierrot in Pierrot Lunaire (Marco Goecke) and Paul Claudel in Rodin/Claudel (Peter Quanz). He also danced Anima by Stijn Celis, Kaguyahime by Jiří Kylián, Transfigured Night (Stjin Celis) and interpreted the role of Death in Orpheus' Gaze (Stijn Celis) and Leonce and King Peter in Leonce & Lena (Christian Spuck). He also danced in Ken Ossola's Dim Light of Dawn, Stephan Thoss' Dream Away and Forsynth's Pas Part. Hervé Courtain has repeatedly been a part of and a star of the Manuel Legris group while he was at the Opéra de Paris. He’s also been invited to dance at the Opéra de Budapest, at the Miami International Gala and also in Brazil for Romeo and Juliet.
