Dr. Isabelle Gagnon, psychologist will offer a workshop integrating movement and dance therapy into her clinical practice. The objective of the workshop is to present a brief introduction to dance therapy, as well as its use in Quebec with different populations. An overview of research will explore different approaches and their effectiveness in both prevention and treatment contexts in mental health. Case examples and experiential exercises will be used to promote a better understanding of the concepts presented and their application in different contexts. Both theoretical and practical, this workshop is aimed at anyone interested in integrating dance and movement to improve well-being and mental health.

Dr. Isabelle Gagnon is a psychologist and graduate of UQAM. She specializes in the development of children, adolescents and young adults. She has been practicing clinical psychology since 2000 and supervising internships at UQAM's Centre de Services Psychologiques since 2010. In 2015, she founded her psychology clinic, offering specialized services for children, adolescents and families. Dr. Gagnon's chosen psychotherapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral-integrative, and she places listening, acceptance and the creation of a caring, secure space for growth at the core of her values. When necessary, she uses various tools that complement psychotherapy, such as play therapy, parental counseling, relaxation techniques, and movement and dance therapy.
