By Roddy Doble
Principal dancer Roddy Doble has choreographed a breathtaking pas de deux set on Johann Sebastian Bach’s* Concerto in D minor (BWV 974)* after A. Marcello. Inspired by the music, the piece evokes a loneliness that feels simultaneously rich and desolate, allowing the female character to soar, plummet, and crumble. She is both aided and hindered by the male character, who is more manifestation than being.
"A languorous and touching piece, Bach's poetry is given new life in this graceful and intimate creation."
Marianne Godbout, Atuvu
