Antonios Bougiouris started his dance training at the Charlotte Klein Dance Centers in Worcester, MA. Upon graduation, he attended The Juilliard School in New York City where he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts. While at Juilliard, Antonios performed the works of Robert Battle, Ohad Naharin, Paul Taylor, David Parsons, Hans Van Manen, Adam Hougland, Eric Hampton, and Jose Limon.
During his time in New York, he was a soloist in Dancer’s Responding to AIDS annual show A Few Good Men Dancin’ held at the New Victory Theater on 42nd Street as well as danced with Robert Hill’s Project Ballet Theater. With PBT, he performed featured roles in Mr. Hill’s Marimba, Dorian, and Baroque Game and danced alongside American Ballet Theater principal dancers Julie Kent, Susan Jaffee, and Marcelo Gomez.
In April 2002, Antonios joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal. There, as a demi-soloist, he had the opportunity to perform soloist roles in the works of world renowned choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Kim Brandstrup, Fernand Nault, Stinj Celis, Kader Belarbi, Ohad Naharin, Shen Wei, Mauro Bigonzetti, Didi Veldman, and George Balanchine. He was also featured in the Les Grands Ballets Canadiens documentaries Quelques Pas a Paris, directed by Ezra Belotte-Cousineau and Avant-Première: Un Été de la Danse, directed by Stephanie-Anne Weber Biron.
In August 2008, Antonios joined Aterballetto in Reggio Emilia, Italy. He had the opportunity to perform featured roles in the works of Mauro Bigonzetti, including being a part of a creation *Come Un Respiro.
In July 2009, Mr. Bougiouris joined bjm-danse, in Montreal where he performs work by Azsure Barton, Cayetano Soto-Ramirez, Wen Wei Wang, Barak Marshall, Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa, and Mauro Bigonzetti.
Antonios feels very fortunate to have performed in over 15 countries and 230 cities including New York, Paris, Los Angelos, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Toronto, Munich, Houston, Boston, Montreal, Malaga, Sofia, and Luxembourg. Mr. Bougiouris has also performed his own choreography for the Remember Project, Juilliard Theater, Clark Studio Theater, and Fire Island Dance Festival.
He can be seen in Loto Quebec’s commercial Celebration 2012 & 2013; the Hollywood films On The Road, starring Kristen Stewart, and Mirror, Mirror, starring Julia Roberts and Nathan Lane; and television shows Fidèle Au Poste, Ils Dansent, and *3600 Secondes d’Extase.
