Deeply rooted in the community, Les Grands Ballets is dedicated to sharing dance and its benefits to as many people as possible. Committed to democratizing ballet and promoting access to the arts for all, the company is involved in a series of initiatives designed to reduce social disparities and provide inclusive access to our performances.
This educational program has been offering a complete immersion in the universe of The Nutcracker for over 25 years, thanks to:
The program was created to offer a moment of joy and respite to vulnerable communities, including people experiencing economic insecurity, social exclusion, emotional distress, and marginalization.
In order to democratize access to culture and raise young people's awareness and interest in the performing arts, In 2010, Les Grands Ballets invite every year hundreds of students from Montreal-area public CEGEPs to attend performances free of charge, thanks to the Aisenstadt Fund.
These performances, organized by Les Grands Ballets' National Centre for Dance Therapy, are adapted to the sensory needs of the audience, so that they can fully enjoy their experience.
Since April 2019 and in cooperation with the Les Petits Rois Foundation, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens has been proud to host seven young adults from Centre Champagnat living with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder. They no longer qualify for services from the public school system and come to us for on-site work experiences.
