The universes of two contemporary choreographers find echoes in each other, during an evening made of discoveries and exploration of the hidden motivations behind our behaviors.
Cass Mortimer Eipper, award-winning dancer of the West Australian Ballet and the Sydney Dance Company, is driven by an exploration of alternate realities. Worlds that help us to reassess our senses and cognition as we journey through lands made from mismatched bits and pieces. His piece* Moveo* is one of these re-formed collages: a creation that explores the mysterious sensory and control apparatus known as our nervous system.
Meanwhile, Canadian choreographer Kristen Céré has distinguished herself notably at Nederlands Dans Theater and is interested in the complexity and depth of human emotion. Delightful Disruption attempts to investigate the fragile and dark regions within us longing for light. In this intimate creation, Céré uses movement to explore a way of navigating through visceral and raw expression while taking a closer look at the shadow within.
