Thanks to the support of dedicated partners, nearly 380 seniors, caregivers, teenagers, and newly arrived families were able to attend the dress rehearsal of the ballet The Lake. Presented on May 27 at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier as part of the Ballet to Share initiative, this evening offered them exclusive access to the show before public performances.
A preparation guide was provided to participants in order to help them explore the world of ballet before attendance. They also had the opportunity to meet dancers from the cast further enhancing the unique and special nature of the experience.
This event featuring Ivan Cavallari’s new creation inspired by Swan Lake, made ballet more accessible to audiences for whom such opportunities are rare. It also created a genuine moment of connection, invaluable respite, and cultural inclusion.
Les Grands Ballets warmly thank the Azrieli Foundation, the Rossy Foundation, the Famille Lemaire Foundation, and the Hylcan Foundation for their invaluable support of this initiative.
