The creative process of Beguile for Les Grands Ballets started in 2019, before being interrupted by the pandemic. During this hiatus, Lesley Telford has been inspired by a strong desire to connect with society at large. Through this contemporary dance creation, the choreographer explores our relationships and the vital need we feel to interact with each other. Are we really independent beings?
“Canadian Lesley Telford pulls us into those connections that influence us, pushing us to heights and drawing us back to earth. A feminine character stands out from the group; wearing a dress that will become an evocative accessory, she leads the group of dancers or is led by them, yet always in a relationship that seems imbued with empathy."
