2018 Edition
With À Suivre, Les Grands Ballets' dancers present 8 unique creations, choreographed and danced by them. These 8 pieces each tell a story, a vision, specific to their creative universe. An invitation to enter the imagination of the dancers in an intimist, multi-faceted show.
Nightly shows on April 18, 20 and 21, at 7:30 p.m., in the Salle Rouge at Édifice Wilder.
The Salle Rouge has a maximum capacity of 250 seats. Seats will be opened up to the public for general admission on a first come, first served basis, the evening of the performance.

Dear audience, Please take note that any resemblance you may find between the piece you are about to see and the current state of the world is, we assure you, a mere coincidence.

That moment — when eyelashes are facing down and eyes are getting filled with tears.. your jaw starts to shake slightly and you are about to lose it. You want to stop, to give up. But you don’t. You wipe the tears. You get up and move on. What is this guidance that shows you a way?

“… our self is a mere illusion, ungraspable, indescribably, misty while the only reality, all too easily graspable and describable, is our image in the eyes of the others. And the worst thing about it is that you are not its master. First you try to paint it yourself, then you want to influence and control it, but in vain… (Milan Kundera: Immortality)”

With this piece, I wanted to talk about love. The need for it and the emotions associated with it. How and what we feel when we need it, and what is happening inside us and how we feel when love sparks in our hearts. We all need love, it brings light into our lives. Without it, we become sad, angry and lost in the darkness of not having it.

A dead man finds himself lost, tormented and stranded in purgatory unable to find peace. An important female figure in this man’s life, descends from the heavens with an army of angels to show the man the way out of the darkness through repentance. As an act of compassion and unconditional love, she saves him and helps him find eternal peace.
A word from the choreographer
In memory of my father, Jesús Garcia-Ribala, the great man I will always love unconditionally and keep alive in my heart forever.
