When Dancers Become Choreographers

À Suivre, Les Grands Ballets’ choreographic workshop is an opportunity for the dancers of the company to showcase their talent as choreographers and explore the various aspects surrounding the creation of a production.

The workshops are usually presented in Les Grands Ballets’ Studio-Théâtre but the current pandemic made a digital format necessary to share the creativity of these four dancers and choreographers.

Principal dancer Myriam Simon presents with Heaving Bliss a sensual pas de deux. Bleuetière, by dancer Kiara Flavin, is a creation inspired by author Maggie Nelson’s book Bleuets, a poetic contemplation on the color blue. Célestin Boutin and Yui Sugawara shine in their piece Yucel, an energetic duo that radiates joie de vivre.

Filmed in Les Grands Ballets’ Studio-Théâtre in accordance with the sanitary protocol established by the Guide of sanitary measures for the audiovisual production workplace issued by the CNESST.
