The collaboration between the NCTD and MAIH has created unforgettable moments for all the members who have participated to the activities of the Grands Ballets. Most importantly, self-expression through different art forms, such as dance, singing, music and visual arts, allows members to discover and surpass themselves.
Our customers have special needs and to these are added several challenges that they face daily. At MAIH, we play a big role in their stimulation, maximising their autonomy and the development of their capacities. In order to help them to develop their full potential, we rely above all on their strength, and we set goals with them in order to develop their skills. The adapted dance teachers of the NCDT are extraordinary and have quickly captured the pulse of the group in order to offer them an experience that targets each person individually. During our weeks at the Grands Ballets, we have seen the participants flourish through several activities. We have had nice surprises and the members have surprised us every day. Indeed, we are witnessing the development of everyone, but especially the most timid ones of the group, who have fully opened up to the possibilities presented and are gaining self-confidence as we would never have predicted. We have seen members dive into their creativity and create beautiful things.
Moreover, at MAIH, it has always been important for us to expose our members to different forms of art and we already have several workshops around the arts. On the other hand, a partnership like the one with the NCDT takes things to a higher level. The arts have allowed them to develop their creativity, to surpass themselves and above all to discover new passions. Dance promotes the expression of emotions, among other things, and we all know that expressing our emotions is never easy, and even less so for our customers.
In addition, as the partnership takes place at the studios of the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, it allows members to leave our premises, to experience dance in the studios where dancers train and this is very inspiring for them. In addition to surpassing themselves and developing self-confidence, members have also seen their physical shape improve during the warm-up and dance periods. We have seen big differences in sense of balance, flexibility, coordination, memory, and more!
In our opinion, all our members benefit from participating in these activities and we hope that this partnership will continue for a long time to come!
