Born in Victoria, British Colombia, he studied Arts and Fine Arts at the University of British Colombia, Simon Fraser University and McGill University, and has worked primarily in the United States.
This artist has collaborated with several contemporary artists for productions like Salome with John Dine for the Houston Grand Opera and Maurice Sendak’s designs for The Nutcracker. In 1989, he designed the sets and costumes for Sheherazade (part of Hommage à Diaghilev II), which the press described as opulent.
