École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec
Catherine Toupin was accepted at the École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec at the age of ten, and it was there that her professional training began. In the course of her schooling she had the chance to dance in a number of ballet excerpts onstage, such as George Balanchine’s Diamonds and Episodes; Fernand Nault’s The Nutcracker; Marius Petipa’s La Bayadère, Swan Lake and Giselle; and Michel Fokine’s Les Sylphides.
She has taken part on three occasions in the Fondation de la Place des Arts' event Future Stars’ Grand Premiere, in her last performance dancing the pas de deux from Giselle with Les Grands Ballets dancer Raphaël Bouchard. She has also taken part in Les Grands Ballets Canadiens’ productions ofThe Nutcracker, Vendetta and Giselle prior to joining the company. Catherine’s childhood dream at last came true when she became a full-time member of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens for the 2019-2020 season.
