Students will execute a serie of exercises at the barre, developing and strengthening legs, ankles, feet and core muscles that are necessary for the execution of pointe work, maintaining proper alignment and balance.
Class duration: 30 minutes
Clientele: open to all, 16 years old and over
Prerequisite: this class is suitable for beginner level students who understand the basics of ballet technique with at least 2 years of practice, who posess an understanding of the proper foot and ankle alignment as well as the necessary flexibility and strength in the legs, feet, ankles and core. Students must participate in a ballet class preceding the pointe class. To ensure safety and avoid risk of injury, Studios GB and their professors have the right to limit the participation to this class only to those students who meet these conditions.
Suggested attire: tights, leggings or fitted garments and pointe shoes
