2010-2013 - Canada’s National Ballet School
Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Kiara Flavin received her formal training at Canada’s National Ballet School. Upon graduating in 2013, she joined Northern Ballet’s graduate professional program, before becoming a company member in 2014. In 2018, she joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet, before joining the corps de ballet of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in 2020. Her repertoire highlights include dancing soloist roles in Cathy Marston's Jane Eyre, Jean Christophe Maillot's Romeo and Juliet and The sky is not so different from us, perhaps by James O'hara.
As a choreographer, her recent works include Mantle, presented by Northern Ballet in 2018, and Wayward, a piece for Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 2020 season. The Waves, her first creation for Les Grands Ballets, was presented to the public for the first time in October 2022.
