Hana Kamea invites the therapists and intervention workers on a developmental movement journey, to examine the needs that are expressed through and underlying the ways in which children move. Participants will discover ways to support children's self-expression, self-regulation and emotional, social and physical development through Dance/Movement Therapy.
The workshop will include a theoretical presentation, movement experiences, videos and case studies.
This event is presented by the National Centre for Dance Therapy and supported by the RBC Foundation. It is dedicated to dance therapists, dance professionals, educators and anyone who wants to learn to better interact with children through movement

Hana is a Dance/Movement Therapist who has been in private practice since 2004 and currently works on contract with the First Nations in BC as well as teaches dance therapy courses. She has worked for a variety of mental health agencies and in schools since 1998 in the USA and Canada. Hana holds a master’s degree in Somatic Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado with a focus in DMT and received further supervision and training in DMT from a variety of second generation DMTs in the US and Canada. Hana completed her certification in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis through Integrated Movement Studies in Utah in 2004 and is also a certified practitioner of BodyMind Psychotherapy and a yoga teacher. Hana is the creator and director/producer of The Moving Child Films I, II and III as well as co-directs and instructs in the ADTA Approved Alternate Route training programs at West Coast Dance/Movement Therapy and LifeMoves in British Columbia.
Hana specializes in attachment based early intervention as well as trauma healing and self-development for all ages. She is also a singer-songwriter and is working on an original mental health focused children's show called 'Bumblina' which incorporates DMT as a primary tool for health.
