No Limits, 10th anniversary

Les Grands Ballets are proud to welcome Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli and its crew ILL-ABILITIES to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their project No Excuses No Limits.

During the evening, professional and non-professional B-boys and B-girls, will compete in battles, on the music of the DJs Benny Lava, In-D-Go and Krops.

Come see these renowned international dance artists at this professional event, accompanied by artists of all abilities, proving that dance truly is for everyone.

5–7 pm: Cypher Battles – qualifications (by invitation only)
8–10 pm: Main event

• ILL-ABILITIESperformance
  ILL-ABILITIES will be debuting a segment of a brand new theatrical dance piece created for future tours around the world. This is the first time that the whole eight-member Bboy crew will be sharing the stage together, proudly representing six countries: Canada, USA, Brazil, Chile, Holland and South Korea.

• 1 vs 1 No Limits Concept Dance Battles
  Created by ILL-ABILITIES, this unique concept challenges both local as well as international dancers to think outside the box. For each battle, dancers must spin a wheel labelled with various constraints and adaptive aids (such as a wheelchair, crutches or a blindfold). The wheel therefore determines what the dancer must apply or use in their dance performance. The goal is to have each dancer not only demonstrate various ways of using the imposed restriction as an advantage, but also build on their strengths and abilities.

• Heroes All Styles Battles
  This battle features dance students with a disability dancing alongside professional dancers who do not have a disability. Each pair must work together to creatively adapt their movement while keeping an open mind.
