This year, for the very first time, Les Grands Ballets will dance Cinderella en pointe. This won’t be the first adaptation of this centuries-old fairy tale, so we’re determined to present a version true to Les Grands Ballets’ unique style.

Along with expanding our repertoire, Les Grands Ballets is committed to giving back to the community. A private performance of Cinderella will be presented on June 2 for 250 children and teens from the Marie-Vincent Foundation and various youth centers, who have been victims of violence. We hope the performance will offer them a much-needed moment of comfort and serenity.

Since it was founded in 1957, Les Grands Ballets has presented over 140 new works. Ivan Cavallari’s arrival as Artistic Director in 2017 was marked by a series of new creative projects, starting with renewing, and expanding the company’s repertoire. It is of the utmost importance to Ivan Cavallari to introduce audiences here and elsewhere to noteworthy original works alongside the great classics. This vision supports Les Grands Ballets in its role as a dynamic ambassador of a bold creative culture built on a foundation of excellence and performance and befitting Montreal’s status as a major cultural centre.
The creation fund makes it possible to propel excellence and to hire the best talents from here and elsewhere to match the company's stature, whether they be choreographers, set designers, lighting designers or costume designers. This fund gives the company's artists the opportunity to blossom and dare in their creativity, in addition to refreshing their offerings to audiences.
