Do you hold Les Grands Ballets close to your heart and wish to make an exceptional gift to support our company for years to come? Whether your goal is to sustain our artistic mission, nurture the next generation of dancers, or support our social and community outreach initiatives, various planned giving options are available to you.
Planned gifts encompass all forms of donations that are part of fiscal, financial, or estate planning, executed during your lifetime or through your will. This kind of donation offers great flexibility to align with your personal circumstances and philanthropic goals. It can take many forms including cash sums, equities, life insurance policies, or the establishment of an endowment fund.
Planned giving allows you to maximize your philanthropic impact while benefiting from significant tax advantages for yourself or your estate.
Anik Bissonnette, former principal dancer of Les Grands Ballets and Artistic Director of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, made a highly meaningful gesture by announcing a bequest to both institutions. Like Anik Bissonnette, become one of the dedicated patrons who ensure that dance continues to shine for generations to come.

The Constance V. Pathy Society honors the generosity of donors who have chosen to support Les Grands Ballets Canadiens through a bequest or another form of planned gift.
This recognition circle was created to perpetuate the memory of those who have made a planned gift in the past, as well as those who choose to do so during their lifetime.
Members of the society receive permanent recognition, and their dedication is highlighted on our website and on the Donor Wall in the Wilder Building, Les Grands Ballets’ home base.
By joining the society, donors or their estates also gain access to exclusive activities reserved for members.
Please note that you may also choose to remain anonymous. If you wish to do so, we will gladly discuss with you some available options that enable you to enjoy certain aspects of donor recognition while preserving your anonymity.
Explore the various types of planned gifts below and have a concrete and lasting impact on Les Grands Ballets and the future of dance. We strongly recommend discussing these options with a legal or financial advisor so you can opt for the tool that best meets your objectives and those of your family.
You can include a bequest to Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in your will. This form of donation allows you to build your legacy without affecting your current standard of living. A charitable bequest can also reduce the tax burden on your estate, helping to minimize the taxes owed upon settlement.
With this type of donation, you can make a substantial donation at an affordable cost while simultaneously lightening your tax burden and preserving your estate for your heirs.
Here too, several options are available, including the gift of an existing policy, the purchase of a new policy, the designation of a charitable organization as the beneficiary of a death benefit, etc.
This type of gift can be established immediately or through your will and provides a legacy that lasts forever. Your gift is invested in an endowment fund and the generated income is distributed annually to support the artistic mission of Les Grands Ballets or a specific initiative of your choice. Additional contributions can be made over time to increase its impact.
Les Grands Ballets abides by a prudent and rigorous investment policy to secure the impact of endowed giving. A detailed annual report will state the fund outcomes and the reach of your gift. You can choose to name your fund in memory of a loved one or after your family to leave a most significant legacy.
To explore the best options for your situation, we recommend consulting a financial expert.
Other planned giving options are available, including donations of flow-through shares, charitable annuities and more.
