On Thursday March 10, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal welcomed the Minutes of Creation's shareholders to a cocktail for the premiere of Dim Light of Dawn. With the help of these generous donators, a total of $18,000 was raised to support Ken Ossola’s creation.
Creation: the driving force behind Les Grands Ballets
As the mainspring of Les Grands Ballets, creation lies at the heart of the company’s mission. Since the arrival of Gradimir Pankov as its Artistic Director in 2000, Les Grands Ballets has focused its energy on creation. Innovating through the production of new works is essential to ensure the growth and longevity of Les Grands Ballets.
This will allow the company to:
Stand out, while offering new and original productions that will meet the demands of audiences and international presenters alike;
Establish its identity, while expanding its repertoire and contributing to the cultural heritage of Quebec and Canada;
Encourage the collaboration with the world’s finest artists, thus ensuring the quality of its productions;
Contribute to the socio-economic development of the cultural sector, by creating sources of revenue for dozens of choreographers, designers, artisans and technicians
The term “shareholder” is here used in the sense of “donator.”
