Les Grands Ballets and the École supérieure de ballet du Québec are launching their first joint fundraising campaign: Pointe to pointe, from the studio to the stage. More than an accessory, pointes represent a decisive step in a young ballerina’s journey. They embody years of hard work and perseverance … and a transition from the studio to the stage.
A pair of pointe shoes costs approximately $150, and the campaign’s goal is to raise enough funds to provide 400 pairs, directly supporting the training and first on stage experiences of ESBQ students—both in the School’s annual show and throughout their participation in Les Grands Ballets productions, notably The Nutcracker.
Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help the next generation of dancers in Quebec.
“Providing pointe shoes for a young dance student means so much more than one might think. It’s a generous action, but above all, it’s real-life support for young dancers and their parents.”
- Tatiana Lerebours, dancer with Les Grands Ballets and graduate of the ESBQ
