Four dancers from Les Grands Ballets share the importance of dance in their lives through this video for International Dance Day.
“Why do you dance?”
This is the question answered by four dancers from Les Grands Ballets: Célestin Boutin, Vanesa G.R. Montoya, Kiara DeNae Felder and Hamilton Nieh. A response through words and a dance solo expressing the emotions and thoughts that go through them when they are dancing. Live the emotion of dance with this video!
Every year since 1982, International Dance Day takes place on April 29: a date that also marks the birth date of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), the creator of modern ballet. International Dance Day was created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute ITI, the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO. It’s a day to celebrate dance and a way to acknowledge its potential to empower people, communities and for economic growth.
