Les Grands Ballets Canadiens unveils its 2025–2026 season—an invitation to immerse yourself in a universe where powerful movement, intimate resonance, and reimagined narratives converge. Under the artistic direction of Ivan Cavallari, this season unfolds as an ode to transformation—of the self, the body, and choreographic language.
In an exclusive video, the Artistic Director presents the key themes of a bold and ambitious program. He invites us on a journey through emblematic works, original creations, and singular reinterpretations that all probe the depths of our shared humanity.
"The shadow yields to the light, and it is in awakening to this force that one turns a step into dance."
— Ivan Cavallari
Among the season’s highlights: Bella Figura, a captivating triptych uniting Kylián, Tetley, and Blackburn, exploring the most delicate states of the soul. With Snow White and the Mirror, Étienne Béchard revisits the beloved tale through a sensory and philosophical lens, challenging our perceptions of beauty. The beloved holiday classic The Nutcracker by Fernand Nault returns in all its timeless magic, while Uwe Scholz’s The Creation elevates Haydn’s oratorio into a profoundly spiritual and moving ballet.
Local talent takes center stage in The Blue Hour, a double bill featuring Ma Saudade by Anne Plamondon and From the Sun to the Moon by Vanesa G. R. Montoya. The season concludes with The Lake, Ivan Cavallari’s deep and poetic reinterpretation of Swan Lake, where Odette becomes the very embodiment of the ballerina in search of meaning.
The 2025–2026 season promises to be a vibrant dialogue between past legacies and the impulses of creation—a true encounter with beauty, emotion, and the living art of dance.
