Considering the confinement measures still in place, Les Grands Ballets had to announce new changes for the performances of Romeo and Juliet by the National Ballet of Georgia. The current situation making it impossible for the guest company to present this ballet, the performances of March 24 to 28 can no longer take place. However, we are pleased to invite you to join our dancers in March 2022 at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier for a new version of Romeo and Juliet, imagined by Ivan Cavallari, Artistic Director of Les Grands Ballets.
The pandemic has forced cultural companies around the world to rethink their programming. This constant adaptation has allowed our dancers and artistic team to spend more time in the studio to create, dream up the future, when they will be able to meet you again in the theatre. Ivan Cavallari has taken advantage of this forced pause to let his imagination loose and create his own version of the lovers of Verona’s famous story.
His neoclassical creation, set to the timeless notes of Prokofiev will come to life at Place des Arts from March 23 to 27, 2022.
'During these times where many are far from their loved ones, I am happy to be able to tell a story from my motherland to our audiences here, my second home. This new production is a wonderful opportunity for the company to let the talent of our local dancers shine!'
Ivan Cavallari, Artistic Director
