Calista Shepheard

Calista began dancing at a young age and she trained in many different styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Musical Theatre and even the occasional Chinese Fan Dance! At the age of 15 she was invited to study at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2022 with an Associate degree in classical ballet.

During her time at the Academy, Calista completed internships with the Dutch National Ballet in the productions of Romeo and Juliet, Mata Hari and Raymonda. During her last year of school she spent three months working at the Swedish Royal Ballet on Rudolf Nureyev’s Swan Lake. She has also performed other modern works such as If we could only even if we could by Leine Roebana and Crystal Pite’s Seasons Cannon. Aside from dancing herself she is also an aspiring young Choreographer and has created a few small pieces. She joins Les Grands Ballets Canadiens for the 2022-2023 season as an apprentice and his promoted as corps de ballet at the end of the season.
