Ana Sofia discovered her passion for art at the age of 4 when she joined the Escuela de Ballet Nena Kerr in her hometown of Maracay, Venezuela. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 and, in 2016, was accepted into the professional dance Performance program at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec.
During her nine years of training, Ana Sofia had the opportunity to perform both corps de ballet and soloist roles in ballets such as Concerto Barocco by George Balanchine, La Bayadère, Swan Lake, and Paquita. She also took part in the COLOSSUS project by the Stephanie Lake Company in 2022, as well as the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur in 2024, where she performed in Daphnis et Chloé by choreographer Andrew Skeels.
Ana Sofia has further enriched her artistic journey by exploring the repertoire of renowned choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Hans van Manen, and Wayne McGregor at the Arts Umbrella International Summer Dance Intensive in 2022 and the Amsterdam International Summer School in 2023.
She also had the privilege of performing in several productions by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, including The Nutcracker (2015–2024), Ludmilla (2024), and The Sleeping Beauty (2025).
Ana Sofia earned her professional diploma in 2025, the year she performed a solo choreographed by dancer and choreographer Maude Sabourin. She then joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as an apprentice.
