Guillaume Côté is a choreographer, dancer, and artistic director. For more than 25 years, his career has taken him to work in Canada and internationally, both as a performer and as a creator.
For over twelve years, he served as associate choreographer with the National Ballet of Canada, where he created several works, including Le Petit Prince, Being and Nothingness, Grand Mirage, and Frame by Frame, produced in collaboration with Robert Lepage and Ex Machina. He has also created works for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Ballet Kelowna, Gauthier Dance in Germany, ProArteDanza, and Ballets Jazz Montréal.
In 2020, he founded Côté Danse, a multidisciplinary company that allows him to continue his creative work and tour his productions across Canada and abroad. These include Crypto, Burn Baby Burn, and The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, a new collaboration with Robert Lepage.
Côté also spent 26 years as a dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, much of that time as a principal dancer, performing leading roles in both the classical and contemporary repertoires. This experience as a performer remains at the heart of his approach to creating and working with dancers.
Since 2014, he has also served as artistic director of the Saint-Sauveur Arts Festival. His choreographic work has earned him numerous awards and honors. He has received the Quebec National Assembly Medal and was named a Knight of the Ordre national du Québec in 2021.
