Choreographer, performer, and educator, Anne Plamondon is a prominent figure on the Quebec and international dance scene, recognized for her refinement, versatility, and commitment to contemporary dance.
Trained at Canada’s National Ballet School, the Banff Centre for Arts, and a 1994 graduate of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, she embodies artistic excellence and choreographic innovation.
She began her performing career with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens before flourishing in Europe with Nederlands Dans Theater (1995-1998) and Ballet Gulbenkian in Portugal (1998-2000). In these prestigious companies, she performed a rich repertoire and collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, and Angelin Preljocaj.
Returning to Montreal in 2000, she turned to contemporary dance and worked with Jean Grand-Maître and James Kudelka. From 2002 to 2015, she played a central role in Victor Quijada’s RUBBERBAND company, first as a performer and then as artistic co-director from 2006. Simultaneously, she collaborated with Crystal Pite and her company Kidd Pivot, contributing to major productions from 2007 to 2015.
In 2012, she transitioned to choreography with Les mêmes yeux que toi, created in collaboration with director Marie Brassard. In 2018, she founded Anne Plamondon Productions, a space dedicated to her own creations and the promotion of works blending virtuosity with emotional depth. In 2023, she became the protégé of Margie Gillis as part of the PGGAS (Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards) mentorship program.
