This workshop is open to anyone interested in integrating dance and movement as a complementary approach to traditional healthcare. It aims to explore movement and non-verbal expression as a means of communication and their impact on emotional experiences.
Dance Therapist: Paula Duffy, R-DMT
Paula Duffy is a creative arts therapist and registered dance movement therapist based in Tiohtià:ke / Montreal. She is passionate about the body’s power to create connection, meaning, and healing through movement and play.
Paula completed her Alternate Route training in dance movement therapy at the National Centre for Dance Therapy (2018), as well as a master’s in drama therapy (2019) and a graduate certificate in play therapy (2021) at Concordia University. Paula has worked in school, community, and clinical settings, where she had the privilege of accompanying and learning from neurodiverse adults, elders with dementia, caregivers, and youth from preschool age to early adulthood. In recent years, Paula has deepened her experience with youth and their families struggling with mental health issues through her work in two youth mental health teams in the public health sector.
