The BNP Paribas Foundation and Les Grands Ballents are joining forces in the framework of the international project of solidarity and education in artistic practice Dream Up and invite the French choreographer Abou Lagraa, ambassador of the program, to conduct dance workshops for a group of girls from Calixa-Lavallée Secondary School.
Inspired by the show Stabat MATER which they will have seen, 12 young girls will be able to create their own choreographic interpretation of this mythical partition of sacred music. The Grands Ballets National Center for Dance Therapy (CNDT), recently moved to the Wilder Building in the heart of downtown Montreal, offers them the chance to present their own show on the evening of October 20 2017, in Les Grands Ballets' home theatre.
This project, carried out within the framework of Dream Up, an international solidarity project of the BNP Paribas Foundation, aims, through artistic practice, to encourage these young girls to be more involved, committed and interested in their educational progress, since participation in extracurricular activities has a direct positive effect on dropping out of school.
