In 2013, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens inaugurated its National Center for Dance Therapy, a unique initiative for a dance company. For the past 10 years, the Centre has acted as an example of openness and inclusion in its community by offering interventions through dance and by promoting their impact on the general well-being of the individual.
The National Center for Dance Therapy incorporates three components to its mandate: an offer in dance therapy, adapted dance and dance for well-being services, an involvement in research and the development of continuous education and professional training activities.
Since it first opened, it has supported thousands of people by building bridges between the dance community and the cultural, community, educational and health sectors. Today, thanks to a dedicated team of professionals and engaged partners, the NCDT continues to evolve and share the benefits of dance.
