To mark their first performance under a new Artistic Director, Ivan Cavallari, and a return to Saint-Sauveur after a 15-year absence, Les Grands Ballets are going big with an eclectic program of works by established choreographers and emerging artists. Black Milk from the master Ohad Naharin, a complex and powerful work. Spectre, by Marwik Schmitt, a promising young choreographer. Ballet 101 by Éric Gauthier, a humorous solo and a FASS favourite. Rounding out the evening’s offerings are Death and the Maiden, by Stephan Thoss (excerpt), an invitation to love, live and dance with unbridled passion–and Falling Angels, by Jiří Kylián, a hypnotic work set to the extraordinary music of Steve Reich. Delight and excitement guaranteed!
