Celebrate the start of the holiday season on Saturday, December 16th in an exclusive workshop featuring repertoire from Les Grands Ballets’ enchanting production of The Nutcracker, a Montreal holiday tradition since 1964!
Myriam Simon, former principal dancer with Les Grands Ballets, invites you to discover her personal creative process while learning choreography from Fernand Nault's The Nutcracker. Myriam Simon has over 20 years' professional experience with companies based in Portugal, Belgium, Germany, and Canada.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn corps de ballet dancing and will have the opportunity of dancing in harmony together and in formation, following each other and different people at different moments in time. Participants will also work on their creativity by creating placements on the spot. Participants will have the opportunity to discover vocabulary, musicality, and synchronization in addition to practising waltz steps, petit and grand allegro, piqué arabesques and more.
In this workshop, participants will learn an excerpt from the choreography of the Waltz of the Flowers from Act II of The Nutcracker.
Beginner level: Saturday, December 16, from 11:40 to 12:55
This workshop is addressed to people with 2 or 3 years of experience in contemporary dance. Students must participate in the beginner contemporary class preceding the workshop. Studios GB and their professors have the right to limit the participation to this class only to those who meet these conditions.
Advanced level: Saturday, December 16, from 1:15pm to 2:30pm
This workshop is addressed to people with 4 or 5 years of experience. Students must participate in a ballet level IV or V class preceding the workshop. Studios GB and their professors have the right to limit the participation to this class only to those who meet these conditions.

Clientele: open to all, 16 years old and over
Suggested attire: tights, leggings or fitted garments and ballet slippers.
